A QoS-Based Fairness-Aware BBR Congestion Control Algorithm Using QUIC

Congestion control is a fundamental technology to balance the traffic load and network. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Quick UDP Connection (QUIC) protocol has flexible congestion at same time possesses advantages of high efficiency, low latency, easy deployment application layer. Bottleneck bandwidth round-trip propagation (BBR) an optional algorithm adopted by QUIC. BBR can significantly increase throughput reduce in particular over long-haul paths. However, results packet loss fairness multi-stream scenarios. In this article, we propose enhanced (eBCC) algorithm, which improves two aspects: (1) 10.87% higher 74.58% lower rate low-bandwidth scenario (2) 8.39% scenario. This improvement makes eBCC very suitable for IoT communications provide better QoS services.
